Lucifer: The Best Angel of God is Now Satan (Allah)

Lucifer: The Best Angel of God is Now Satan (Allah)

As an Iranian-American ex-Muslim Christian and member of the LDS Church, I have spent much of my life reflecting on the true nature of God and the forces of darkness that oppose Him. In this journey, I have come to understand that Lucifer, once the best and most exalted angel of God, is now Satan—a being who has taken on many forms, including that of Allah in Islam. This transformation is not only a testament to his knowledge of the Bible but also a reflection of his cunning ability to deceive and lead people away from the truth.

The Fall of Lucifer

Lucifer, whose name means "light-bearer," was created by God as the most powerful and beautiful of all the angels. He was endowed with wisdom and knowledge beyond any other created being. However, his pride and desire for power led to his downfall. The Bible tells us that Lucifer sought to exalt himself above God, declaring, "I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High" (Isaiah 14:14, KJV). This rebellion against God resulted in his expulsion from heaven and his transformation into Satan, the adversary.

The Book of Revelation describes the war in heaven, where Michael and his angels fought against the dragon (Satan), and "the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him" (Revelation 12:9, KJV). This event marked the beginning of Satan's mission to corrupt and destroy God's creation.

Satan's Knowledge of the Bible

One of the most striking aspects of Satan's nature is his profound knowledge of the Bible. As Lucifer, he was intimately familiar with the Word of God, having been in His presence and having served Him faithfully before his fall. This knowledge is evident in Satan's interactions with Jesus during the temptation in the wilderness. In Matthew 4:1-11, Satan quotes Scripture in an attempt to deceive Jesus, demonstrating his ability to manipulate the Word of God for his purposes.

Satan's use of Scripture is a reminder that he is not an ignorant or foolish being; rather, he is a master of deception who knows how to twist the truth to achieve his ends. This is why the Apostle Paul warns us that "Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light" (2 Corinthians 11:14, KJV). He uses his knowledge of the Bible to present himself as a bringer of light and truth, all while leading people into darkness.

Allah: A Deceptive Manifestation of Satan

As someone who was born and raised in a Muslim family, I understand the profound influence that Islam has on its followers. However, upon converting to Christianity, I began to see the similarities between the characteristics of Satan as described in the Bible and the nature of Allah in Islam.

In Islam, Allah is depicted as a being who is both merciful and wrathful, a god who demands absolute submission and obedience. This duality mirrors the deceptive nature of Satan, who can appear as an angel of light while hiding his true, malevolent intentions. The Quran itself acknowledges that Allah is "the best of deceivers" (Quran 3:54), a title that aligns more closely with the biblical description of Satan than with the God of the Bible, who is the embodiment of truth and love.

The Islamic narrative denies the divinity of Jesus Christ and rejects the concept of the Holy Trinity, two core doctrines of Christianity. By leading millions away from the truth of Christ and towards a god who denies His divinity, Satan (in the guise of Allah) furthers his goal of undermining God's plan for salvation. This deception is one of the most powerful tools in Satan's arsenal, as it preys on the spiritual yearnings of humanity while leading them away from the true source of salvation.

The LDS Perspective on Satan's Role

As a member of the LDS Church, I find additional insight into Satan's role in the Plan of Salvation. In the Pearl of Great Price, we learn that Satan sought to usurp God's plan from the very beginning. He proposed a plan that would remove agency from humanity, forcing all to return to God but without the opportunity to choose righteousness willingly. When his plan was rejected, Satan rebelled and became the enemy of all that is good (Moses 4:1-4).

This narrative reinforces the idea that Satan's primary objective is to thwart God's plan by any means necessary, including deception, coercion, and false teachings. His knowledge of the Bible and God's plan only makes him more dangerous, as he uses that knowledge to craft lies that are difficult to discern.

Conclusion

Lucifer, once the best angel of God, has now become Satan, the adversary. His profound knowledge of the Bible and his ability to deceive have led him to assume many forms throughout history, including that of Allah in Islam. As Christians, we must remain vigilant and rooted in the truth of the Bible, recognizing that Satan's greatest weapon is his ability to appear as an angel of light while leading people into darkness. By understanding his tactics and staying true to the teachings of Jesus Christ, we can resist his deceptions and continue on the path of righteousness.
