Why the AfD is Very Good for Germany and Should Make Major Changes After Their Victory

Germany stands at a crossroads. The Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) represents the last, best hope for preserving the country’s Christian, cultural, and national identity against the encroaching forces of globalism, open borders, and leftist decay. For years, Germany has been shackled by the disastrous policies of the left—mass immigration, climate extremism, and EU overreach—all of which have weakened the nation’s economy, security, and traditional values. As a conservative Christian and a Latter-day Saint, I believe that the AfD offers a path toward restoration, national sovereignty, and a return to the principles that made Germany strong. If victorious, the AfD must implement sweeping reforms to correct decades of leftist mismanagement.

The AfD’s Commitment to National Sovereignty

The most crucial step for Germany’s revival is reasserting its national sovereignty, and the AfD is the only major party willing to do so. The European Union (EU) has stripped Germany of its autonomy, forcing the country to accept uncontrolled immigration, economically damaging climate regulations, and cultural policies that undermine its Christian heritage. The AfD rightfully opposes these measures and advocates for reclaiming German independence from unelected EU bureaucrats. Germany must follow the example of nations like Hungary and Poland, which have prioritized their national interests over globalist dictates (Mudde, 2020).

Ending Mass Immigration and Restoring Cultural Identity

One of the most destructive policies inflicted upon Germany has been the reckless acceptance of millions of migrants from Islamic and Third World countries, particularly under Angela Merkel’s chancellorship. This demographic shift has led to rising crime, increased welfare dependency, and a dilution of German cultural traditions (Sarrazin, 2010). The AfD has correctly identified the necessity of a complete halt to mass immigration and the deportation of illegal migrants who do not integrate into society. Germany’s Christian heritage and national character must be preserved, and this begins by prioritizing the interests of its native people over foreign populations who have no respect for its laws or customs.

Economic and Energy Policy: Rejecting the Green Extremism

Germany’s economic decline has been exacerbated by leftist climate policies that have resulted in skyrocketing energy costs and a loss of industrial competitiveness. The so-called “Energiewende” (energy transition) has been a disaster, leaving Germany dependent on unreliable wind and solar energy while shutting down its nuclear and coal power plants (Wehrmann, 2023). The AfD must reverse these policies by reinvesting in domestic energy production, including nuclear and clean coal, ensuring that Germany has a stable and affordable energy supply. By doing so, the AfD can revitalize German industry, create jobs, and free the country from dependency on foreign energy sources.

Defending Christian Values and Traditional Family Structures

Germany, like much of the West, has suffered from the erosion of Christian values due to aggressive secularism, gender ideology, and attacks on the traditional family. The AfD stands as one of the few parties defending the sanctity of marriage, the right of parents to raise their children according to their values, and the preservation of biological reality in law and culture. The left’s obsession with gender ideology, LGBT activism in schools, and the destruction of the nuclear family is directly opposed to Christian teachings (Kuby, 2012). As a Latter-day Saint, I recognize that a society cannot thrive without strong families grounded in faith. The AfD must implement policies that support marriage, increase birth rates among native Germans, and protect children from ideological indoctrination.

The Future of Germany Under the AfD

If the AfD wins, they must act boldly. No half-measures will suffice in undoing the damage done by decades of leftist rule. Key policies should include:

1. Exiting the EU or severely limiting its influence over German law.
2. Implementing a zero-tolerance policy on illegal immigration and deporting those who do not integrate.
3. Restoring national energy independence through nuclear and coal power.
4. Defunding radical leftist organizations and banning extremist ideologies from schools.
5. Revitalizing traditional German culture, faith, and national pride.

A strong, free, and sovereign Germany is not just good for the German people—it is good for all of Europe and Western civilization. The globalist forces that seek to dismantle nations, erase borders, and impose their dystopian vision will fight against the AfD’s rise, but truth and righteousness will prevail. Germany has the chance to reclaim its heritage and stand as a beacon of Christian conservatism in Europe. May the AfD have the courage to make it happen.
