Why Corporations Must Dismiss Woke Leftist Workers to Secure Their Future

By Bobby Darvish, Iranian-American Ex-Muslim, Former Vegan, Former Democrat, Former Socialist, Former CAIR-Columbus Executive Director, Former Muslim Forum of Utah President, Former Pagan, Christian Conservative LDS Priest

As someone who has witnessed the corrosive effects of leftist ideologies on both individuals and organizations, I am convinced that corporations must act decisively to protect themselves from the influence of woke, socialist, and Islamist employees. These ideologies, often masquerading as progressivism, are not merely harmless opinions. They are active and destructive forces that can undermine a company’s integrity, alienate customers, and weaken its foundational values. Having personally experienced and rejected these ideologies during my journey, I can affirm that their presence in the workplace represents a dire threat to any enterprise.

The Danger of DEI and Woke Policies
Wokeism and its offshoots—such as diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives—often appear benevolent on the surface. After all, who doesn’t want a diverse and inclusive workplace? The problem is that these movements, rather than fostering true equality, frequently promote a new form of discrimination. Employees who hold traditional, conservative, or religious beliefs often find themselves marginalized. Hiring decisions become based on identity rather than merit, leading to inefficiency and resentment. Far from creating harmony, these policies foster division and resentment, eroding trust among coworkers and diminishing productivity.

Economic Consequences of Woke Employment Practices
Socialist and leftist employees, whether consciously or not, often push for policies that can severely impact a company’s financial health. Calls for excessive regulation, demands for inflated minimum wages, or support for union initiatives that prioritize worker power over company stability can drive up costs and force businesses into unprofitable territory. At the extreme, these ideologies even advocate for the redistribution of company wealth to fund social programs—essentially turning profitable enterprises into unwitting benefactors of political movements. This is not sustainable. Corporations exist to generate value for shareholders, not to become pawns in ideological battles.

The Threat of Islamist Ideologies in the Workplace
Having served as a Muslim leader and now a Christian conservative, I’ve seen firsthand how certain Islamist ideologies infiltrate organizations and push agendas that conflict with the values of freedom and equality. Islamist employees may demand special accommodations that can create discord among workers. Some may push for policies or alliances that reflect theocratic preferences, thereby jeopardizing the company’s reputation and alienating a significant portion of its consumer base. Such ideologies have no place in a secular corporate environment that thrives on shared values and mutual respect.

Safeguarding the Company’s Culture
By allowing these ideologies to flourish unchecked, corporations risk losing the trust of their employees and customers. Woke workers often bring with them an activist mentality, leading to boycotts, public relations nightmares, and reputational damage. Conservative employees may feel compelled to stay silent or leave the company entirely, resulting in a homogeneous echo chamber that lacks the diversity of thought necessary for innovation and growth. To safeguard their culture, companies must prioritize hiring individuals who respect traditional values, merit-based advancement, and the rights of all employees to express their beliefs without fear of reprisal.

Why Termination is Necessary
Ultimately, terminating employees who actively promote leftist, socialist, or Islamist agendas is not about stifling free speech—it’s about preserving the health and longevity of the organization. Just as companies have the right to enforce codes of conduct and maintain standards of professionalism, they also have the right to ensure that their workforce supports rather than undermines their mission. This is not an act of discrimination; it is a rational response to protect the company’s bottom line, its culture, and its future.

Conclusion
As a former advocate of many of these ideologies, I have come to understand how deeply they can harm both individuals and the institutions they inhabit. Companies must take proactive steps to ensure their workplace remains free from divisive, destructive agendas. By letting go of employees who promote woke, socialist, or Islamist ideologies, corporations can secure their stability, maintain their values, and protect their hard-earned success.
