Why I Love Trump and Musk and How They Will Make America Great Again

Why I Love Trump and Musk and How They Will Make America Great Again

By Bobby Darvish, Iranian-American Ex-Muslim, Former Vegan, Former Socialist, Former CAIR-Columbus Executive Director, Former Muslim Forum of Utah President, Christian Conservative LDS

Growing up as an Iranian-American, my life has been defined by several pivotal moments—each shaping my worldview and personal convictions. I was once a devout Muslim, a strict vegan, and a socialist who advocated for the redistribution of wealth and societal control through government power. I was also an executive director at CAIR-Columbus and the president of the Muslim Forum of Utah, institutions that promoted the ideas of political Islam and Marxism. But life experiences, intellectual evolution, and deep reflections on both faith and politics led me to a transformative realization: the only way forward for America—my adopted country—is to embrace the vision of greatness that Donald Trump and Elon Musk embody.

The Power of Individualism and Freedom

For years, I was caught in the grip of collectivist ideologies, thinking that true progress came through the centralization of power. As a former socialist, I believed that the government should control resources and regulate every aspect of people's lives for the "greater good." But I came to understand that such systems stifle innovation, creativity, and personal freedom. Over time, my faith in individualism—championed by both Trump and Musk—replaced my allegiance to socialism.

Donald Trump’s administration was a testament to the power of the individual. His policies emphasized deregulation, lower taxes, and fostering a business-friendly environment that allowed American entrepreneurs and small businesses to thrive. Trump’s unapologetic defense of American values—such as freedom, capitalism, and the Constitution—spoke to me deeply. Unlike the political establishment, which seems to believe that government is the solution to every problem, Trump demonstrated that people, empowered by their own decisions and hard work, are the true drivers of success.

Elon Musk’s journey mirrored this. As an innovator, Musk is reshaping multiple industries—whether it's electric vehicles with Tesla, space exploration with SpaceX, or transforming the future of artificial intelligence and neurotechnology with Neuralink. Musk stands as a beacon of what American ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit can achieve when individuals are given the freedom to follow their passions without the suffocating hand of government interference. Both Trump and Musk are exemplars of a core principle that I now hold dear: freedom allows greatness to flourish.

The Fight for National Sovereignty and Values

As an Iranian-American, I have seen firsthand the consequences of unchecked migration, unassimilated immigrant populations, and the dangers of radical ideologies being introduced to a society that values its heritage and way of life. Trump’s "America First" stance resonated with me because it championed the importance of maintaining American sovereignty and protecting the cultural fabric of the nation. I realized that while immigrants should be welcomed into the U.S., they must also assimilate into its values, which include respect for freedom of speech, the rule of law, and Judeo-Christian principles. Trump’s tough stance on border security and immigration policy was not about xenophobia, but about ensuring that America remains a land of opportunity for those who truly wish to contribute to its future.

Musk, on the other hand, represents the future of America’s international influence. As the CEO of companies like SpaceX, he is building technological infrastructure that will secure America's global standing for decades to come. Musk's work has the potential to take humanity to new heights, beyond national borders, by making space exploration a reality for private enterprises. In this way, both Trump and Musk embody different facets of a renewed greatness for America—Trump by protecting our borders and values, and Musk by leading the charge into a future of unparalleled innovation.

The Need for a Strong Economy and Personal Responsibility

The Trump administration ushered in an era of unprecedented economic growth. The tax cuts, deregulation, and emphasis on bringing jobs back to America helped reignite the nation’s economic engine. This wasn’t just for the wealthy—it was for hardworking families across the country. I’ve come to understand that wealth isn’t a zero-sum game. When businesses flourish, it leads to job creation, a rising standard of living, and opportunities for all. Trump’s economic policies reflected my belief that personal responsibility, combined with a thriving free-market system, leads to prosperity.

Musk’s companies, particularly Tesla, have provided thousands of jobs and have revolutionized the electric car industry. He has shown that technological innovation can be a driving force for economic prosperity, and that capitalism, when harnessed responsibly, can create a future where the individual and the environment thrive together.

From a Former Socialist to a Christian Conservative

My journey from socialism to conservatism was not an easy one. It was the realization that the free market and individual liberty are the true engines of progress. As I turned away from my past associations with CAIR-Columbus and the Muslim Forum of Utah, I found peace in the teachings of Christ. Christianity, in its truest form, emphasizes personal responsibility, hard work, and the sanctity of life—values that align perfectly with the visions of Trump and Musk. Both men embody an unapologetic commitment to these values, whether through their advocacy for economic freedom, their defense of the nuclear family, or their belief in American exceptionalism.

Today, as a Christian conservative and an LDS member, I see Trump and Musk as figures who will bring the United States back to the principles that made it great—freedom, individualism, and self-reliance. These values are not just conservative ideals; they are American ideals. And as a former Muslim who understands the importance of defending faith, family, and country, I am certain that Trump and Musk are the right leaders to ensure that America remains a shining beacon of hope and prosperity for generations to come.
