Why I, as an Iranian-American Ex-Muslim Christian Conservative, Still Stand with Trump – A Response to Misconceptions and Misinformation

As an Iranian-American ex-Muslim who has experienced authoritarianism, I can recognize the twisted tactics of character assassination used against individuals who challenge the status quo. Donald Trump is no stranger to this, as he's relentlessly attacked and misrepresented by media and political elites who willfully distort his past, his statements, and his intentions. In response to the criticism that Trump’s defenders are blindly excusing "misogynistic" behavior and overlooking his supposed "convicted felon" status, let’s look at the facts and expose these arguments for what they truly are: biased attacks on a leader who, for all his faults, genuinely challenges the establishment and fights for America's future.
Trump and Misogyny: A Double Standard
One of the common accusations leveled against Trump is that he’s a "misogynist" who has disrespected women. However, these accusations fail to consider the nuanced relationships and policies he has maintained regarding women. As president, Trump hired numerous women for high-profile roles within his administration, including Kellyanne Conway, the first woman to successfully run a presidential campaign, and Kayleigh McEnany, a prominent conservative voice. His daughter, Ivanka Trump, spearheaded initiatives focused on women's empowerment, economic growth, and family leave policies. These contributions demonstrate a side of Trump that critics frequently ignore: a leader who, despite controversial comments, has supported and advanced policies beneficial to women.
In contrast, many of the loudest voices calling Trump a misogynist have had no problem supporting politicians with actual histories of questionable behavior towards women, including certain Democratic politicians with documented issues. The selective outrage here exposes a double standard, where similar accusations are treated differently based on political affiliation rather than on evidence and intent.
Trump’s Relationship with Epstein: Misleading Narratives
It’s often said that Trump was associated with Jeffrey Epstein, implying a deeper connection than what existed. While it’s true they crossed paths socially in the 1990s, by the early 2000s, Trump reportedly distanced himself from Epstein and banned him from Mar-a-Lago after a dispute, during his presidency, Trump worked to expose and address human trafficking and sex crimes, dedicating more resources than previous administrations to combat this horrific industry .
Compp’s brief acquaintance with Epstein to those who had long-standing associations and financial ties to him — as some high-profile politicians and celebrities have — is a weak argument that misleads the public. The implication is an attempt to use "guilt by association," a tactic commonly employed to smear public figures without any actual evidence of wrongdoing.
The Pageant Dressing Room Comment: Context Matters
The infamous dressing room comment about teenage pageant contestants has been twisted beyond recognition. Trump’s remark, while tactless, was more an expression of the pageant culture and security protocols than of any actual wrongdoing. It’s essential to scrutinize his words in context, rather than projecting the worst possible interpretation onto them, as critics are quick to do. Trump’s record of support from women in his inner circle, along with his track record on policies benefiting American families, offers a far more balanced picture than these sensationalized anecdotes would suggest.
Trump's Focus on the American People Over Corporate Interests
Claims that Trump "only cares about money and corporations" ignore his populist policies that challenged the power of large corporations. Trump brought back American jobs by enacting policies that favored American workers, cutting taxes to encourage business investment domestically, and removing onerous regulations that stifled small businesses. These efforts reversed years of job outsourcing and enabled manufacturing to return to the U.S. in ways unseen in recent decades.
Moreover, Trump’s policy towards China — from trade tariffs to stricter regulations on intellectual property theft — highlighted his commitment to prioritizing American interests over the profit motives of corporations looking to exploit cheap labor abroad. Trump’s record stands in stark contrast to prior administrations that allowed corporations to export jobs at the expense of the American middle class.
Addressing Trump’s Own Words
The author of the critique mentioned "quoting" Trump’s own words as somehow condemning him. However, Trump’s blunt, sometimes crass style has been misunderstood as an indictment of his character. Trump’s off-the-cuff speaking style is often fodder for media spin, and isolated comments are recycled to imply malice or vulgarity that his actions do not support. But Trump’s appeal to the working class lies precisely in this style — he speaks plainly and directly, contrasting sharply with the sanitized political language many Americans have grown skeptical of. Rather than hiding behind political correctness, Trump’s authenticity is a quality that his supporters value.
Conclusion: Mischaracterizations Fuel the Division
The criticisms laid out against Trump often rely on hyperbole, selective reporting, and biased interpretations, meant to distract from his achievements and discredit his movement. What we see here is a sustained effort by media and political operatives to undermine a leader who disrupted the entrenched power structures in Washington and prioritized American sovereignty and prosperity. Trump’s policies, not his personality, are what have reshaped the American political landscape.
As an Iranian-American who has seen firsthand the dangers of media manipulation and political control, I can attest that Trump is a unique voice willing to push back against the elites and fight for American ideals. His achievements, despite endless opposition, deserve a fair and balanced evaluation. In today’s divisive climate, it is more critical than ever to separate fact from rhetoric and recognize who is genuinely advocating for the American people.
