Unmasking the Radical LGBTQ Agenda: Reflections of a Christian Conservative Iranian-American

By Bobby Darvish, Iranian-American Ex-Muslim, Former Vegan, Former Democrat, Former Socialist, Former CAIR-Columbus Executive Director, Former Muslim Forum of Utah President, Christian Conservative LDS

As someone who has traveled a long and winding road from my upbringing in Islam to embracing Christianity as a conservative member of the LDS Church, I have witnessed how cultural shifts, ideologies, and political movements shape the moral fabric of society. One of the most pressing issues facing families and faith communities today is the radical LGBTQ agenda—a subject that Father Josiah Trenham has courageously addressed with wisdom and clarity.

Father Trenham, an Orthodox Christian priest and theologian, has been an outspoken critic of the cultural revolution that seeks to redefine gender, marriage, and sexuality. His perspective, grounded in Christian orthodoxy, resonates deeply with those of us who value traditional family structures and moral principles. The LGBTQ agenda he critiques is not merely about tolerance or equal rights—it is about the imposition of a worldview that undermines faith, family, and freedom.

The LGBTQ Agenda: A Cultural Revolution

In his talks and writings, Father Josiah Trenham outlines how the LGBTQ movement has shifted from advocating for basic civil rights to promoting a radical ideology that demands affirmation and participation in lifestyles that conflict with Christian teachings. This agenda extends beyond individual freedom; it seeks to reshape public institutions, education, and even religious doctrine to align with its values.

As someone who once advocated for progressive causes, I understand the allure of movements that claim to champion equality and justice. However, the LGBTQ agenda goes beyond these ideals by targeting foundational societal institutions. Father Trenham rightly points out that the redefinition of marriage and family undermines the God-ordained purpose of these institutions, which serve as the bedrock of civilization. He notes that the agenda is not content with coexistence—it seeks domination and conformity, often at the expense of religious liberty.

Impact on Religious Freedom

Father Trenham’s warnings about the LGBTQ agenda’s assault on religious freedom are particularly poignant. Faith communities that adhere to traditional teachings on marriage and sexuality are increasingly vilified as hateful or bigoted. Legal battles over issues such as wedding services, adoption agencies, and employment practices highlight how the LGBTQ movement often conflicts with the rights of individuals and organizations to live according to their faith.

As a Christian conservative, I have personally experienced the pressure to conform to secular ideologies that contradict my deeply held beliefs. Whether it is in the workplace, in public discourse, or within former social circles, the demand to affirm LGBTQ lifestyles can feel oppressive. Father Trenham’s bold stance reminds us that Christians must stand firm in defending their faith, even when it is unpopular.

The Role of Education

One of the most troubling aspects of the LGBTQ agenda is its influence on education. Father Trenham has spoken about how public schools are increasingly being used to indoctrinate children with gender ideology and sexual education programs that are inappropriate and often explicit. This deliberate targeting of children undermines parental authority and exposes young minds to ideas that conflict with biblical teachings.

As someone who grew up in a culture where indoctrination was commonplace, I recognize the dangers of allowing the state to shape children’s beliefs at the expense of family values. Parents must be vigilant in protecting their children from harmful influences and advocating for their right to guide their children’s moral and spiritual development.

A Call to Action

Father Josiah Trenham’s insights are a wake-up call for Christians and conservatives to resist the radical LGBTQ agenda with courage and compassion. This resistance is not about hatred or exclusion but about preserving the truth of God’s design for humanity. As a former Muslim, socialist, and vegan who has embraced Christianity and conservative principles, I know the power of transformation and the importance of standing for what is right.

We must engage in this cultural battle through prayer, education, and active participation in the public square. By supporting policies and leaders who uphold traditional values, we can push back against the forces seeking to undermine faith, family, and freedom.
