The Hypocrisy of Democrats: Threatening Iranian-Americans with Deportation While Trump Loves Us

As an Iranian-American who has experienced the hardships of immigration firsthand, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of betrayal when I hear the Democrat narrative targeting individuals like me. The very people who threaten our place in this country—despite us being legal immigrants—are the same ones who claim to champion diversity and inclusivity. They do so while simultaneously inciting fear and division by propagating the idea that the Trump administration would deport us, even though the reality is quite the opposite.
The Democrat Strategy: Fear and Misinformation
Democrats love to present themselves as the saviors of immigrants. They position themselves as the protectors of the disenfranchised and those in danger of deportation. Yet, when it comes to Iranian-Americans, and indeed, many immigrants from non-Latin countries, the left’s tactics are shockingly counterproductive and hypocritical. Their constant fear-mongering about President Trump’s immigration policies has painted a target on the backs of people like me—legal, hardworking immigrants who cherish this country.
For instance, many Iranian-Americans are faced with the fear of being deported under a Trump presidency. Democrats, particularly progressive voices in the party, have made us believe that Trump’s administration would target us, when in reality, Trump’s stance has always been about securing the borders from illegal immigration, not dismantling legal immigration. Iranian-Americans are in fact largely supportive of Trump because of his stance against the Islamic regime in Iran. His administration’s policies have been a beacon of hope for us, particularly those of us who escaped the tyrannical Iranian government.
Trump has repeatedly shown support for our community, particularly through his actions to counteract the malign influence of the Iranian government and his unwavering commitment to stand up for freedom. The Democrats, however, would have you believe that we fear Trump and his policies. What they fail to understand is that Iranian-Americans, like many legal immigrants, have a deep appreciation for the opportunities this country has provided—opportunities that the left’s policies often undermine.
Why Iranian-Americans Love Trump
When you grow up in an environment where religious freedom, political liberty, and individual rights are oppressed, you come to understand the value of these things in a way that most Americans might take for granted. Many of us left behind brutal regimes—whether under the Shah or the Islamic Republic—and sought refuge in the land of the free.
Trump’s policies aimed at countering the threat of radical Islamic regimes, especially Iran, resonate deeply with Iranian-Americans. He has recognized the corruption of the Iranian government and understood that the Iranian people—who are often trapped under this regime—deserve a better future. His "maximum pressure" campaign against the Iranian regime garnered widespread support from many Iranian-Americans, who view him as a defender of freedom and democracy.
Contrary to the Democrat narrative, Trump’s administration has been a champion of legal immigration. His efforts to secure the border focus on illegal crossings and criminal behavior, not deporting law-abiding immigrants like us. Democrats, on the other hand, are so focused on pushing their divisive and socialist agenda that they often fail to recognize the danger they pose to legal immigrants who support Trump’s vision for America.
The Real Racism, Bigotry, and Misogyny of the Left
If anyone embodies true racism, bigotry, and misogyny, it is the Democrats who continue to peddle divisive rhetoric and exploit minority groups for political gain. Take, for example, the left’s obsession with identity politics. They constantly categorize people based on their race, religion, or gender, perpetuating the idea that individuals cannot be more than their perceived social labels. This is the true definition of racism and bigotry—treating people as less than human based on their external characteristics.
Moreover, the left’s treatment of women, especially women from immigrant communities, is rife with hypocrisy. They claim to champion women's rights, yet many of their policies—such as promoting leftist ideologies—ultimately harm women. Take Iran as an example: while the Democrats focus on defending women’s rights in the U.S., they remain eerily silent about the oppression of women under the Islamic Republic of Iran. These same Democrats are complicit in undermining the rights of women by supporting regimes that treat women as second-class citizens.
The real misogyny comes from those who refuse to confront the Islamic extremism that subjugates women around the world, including in the Middle East. They turn a blind eye to the treatment of women in the countries from which many of us, as Iranian-Americans, fled. Their failure to recognize the brutal realities of life under regimes like the one in Iran is a glaring example of their selective outrage and misguided policies.
Conclusion
Democrats have long been proponents of the “victimhood” narrative, but in doing so, they have become the very oppressors they claim to oppose. As Iranian-Americans, we understand firsthand the dangers of living under an oppressive regime, and we deeply value the freedom and opportunities that America offers. While Democrats work to divide us through fear and misinformation, President Trump stands as an ally—championing legal immigration, protecting religious freedom, and confronting the true enemies of liberty.
It’s time for Iranian-Americans and all legal immigrants to recognize the truth: Trump is not our enemy, but rather the Democrats, who use fear, division, and false narratives to manipulate us. The left’s brand of racism, bigotry, and misogyny is rooted in their refusal to acknowledge the rights and freedoms that legal immigrants hold dear. As we move forward, we must stand united against their divisive tactics and continue to support the values that make America great.
