Refuting Leftist Meltdowns After Trump’s Victory

Refuting Leftist Meltdowns After Trump’s Victory

By Bobby Darvish - darvishintelligence.blogspot.com

As an Iranian-American ex-Muslim who came to embrace Christianity and found truth in the doctrines of the LDS Church, my journey has been shaped by a personal confrontation with tyranny, faith, and the pursuit of freedom. This perspective allows me to see the far-left’s hysteria in the wake of Donald Trump’s victory in a much clearer light. The so-called "meltdowns" by leftists after Trump’s rise to power were not just political tantrums—they were rooted in an ideological and emotional failure that betrays both the American spirit and the principles of justice.

The Left's Failure to Recognize Democracy

It was no secret that Donald Trump's victory in 2016 was met with visceral resistance from the far-left. What stood out to me, however, was the glaring disconnect between their reactions and the core values of democracy. As an ex-Muslim, I’ve seen firsthand how oppressive systems, such as the Islamic regimes that have plagued the Middle East, suppress true democratic engagement. So when I watched Americans protest Trump's win, calling the election "stolen" or engaging in violent demonstrations, I was reminded of how certain groups in the Middle East view their own elections—fraudulent and controlled, with no real hope for change.

Unlike the totalitarian regimes that restrict freedom of speech, religion, and assembly, American democracy thrives on free and fair elections, even if one party does not like the outcome. In many ways, the left's response to Trump’s election seemed to mirror the behavior of those in authoritarian countries who feel betrayed by a system they cannot control. The widespread condemnation without legitimate cause reflected their inability to accept a differing political reality. To me, it seemed as though the left was more concerned with power and control than respecting the will of the people—a notion far removed from the democratic ideals I hold dear as a Christian conservative.

The Reaction to the Rise of a Christian Conservative

From my experience as an Iranian-American who found salvation in Christ, I understand the importance of faith in guiding one’s political convictions. Trump’s victory symbolized the success of Christian conservative values in a time when the culture was becoming increasingly secular and hostile to traditional values. It was a signal that America, despite its challenges, was still fundamentally rooted in its Judeo-Christian heritage. However, the left, with its secular agenda and disregard for Christian morality, could not accept this shift. They viewed Trump’s rhetoric on religious liberty, abortion, and the sanctity of marriage not as a return to values, but as a threat to their progressive agenda.

The left’s refusal to accept Trump’s evangelical support shows a larger disdain for Christian principles, which they have come to view as regressive. In fact, many leftists tried to discredit the millions of Christians who supported Trump by framing them as bigoted and ignorant. This was a clear attack on the very heart of American identity—an identity founded on Christian ideals that have shaped our nation’s history and institutions.

The Real Meltdown: A Left-Wing Cultural War

What I find most troubling about the left’s reaction to Trump’s victory is how it exposed their deep-seated disdain for American values and their embrace of globalism. Leftists view the rise of conservative Christianity and nationalism as an existential threat to the multiculturalism they have spent decades promoting. But this isn’t about racism or intolerance—this is about the cultural preservation of a nation that has been a beacon of liberty for the world.

As a member of the LDS Church, I’ve seen how a true belief in freedom of conscience and religious liberty has shaped both our faith and the American experiment. Trump's presidency, despite its flaws, stood in opposition to the globalist agenda that seeks to erode borders, traditions, and national sovereignty in favor of a one-world government. This globalist vision is anathema to the conservative principles that protect individual freedoms, sovereignty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Conclusion: The Real Path Forward

As we reflect on the left’s so-called "meltdown" after Trump's victory, it's clear that their outrage was not based on any objective understanding of justice, but rather on a misguided belief in their ideological superiority. The outbursts were less about the man himself and more about a growing fear that the moral and cultural foundations of America were shifting in a direction they could not control.

In the years since, the same left-wing forces have continued to undermine Christian values, promote secularism, and attack the foundational principles of American exceptionalism. Yet, as someone who has experienced life under both the harsh rule of authoritarian regimes and the blessings of a democratic republic, I know which path leads to true freedom and prosperity. It’s not the path of leftist radicalism—it’s the path of faith, family, and the Constitution.

We must stand firm in our commitment to Christian values and conservative principles, for they are the true guardians of liberty. Only by upholding these principles will we ensure that America remains a beacon of hope and freedom for future generations.
