Breed Them Out - Why Christian Conservatives Should Support Democrat Socialist Women Who Embrace Celibacy, Abortion, and Gay Marriage—But Only for Themselves
By Bobby Darvish, Iranian-American Ex-Muslim, Former Vegan, Former Democrat, Former Socialist, Former CAIR-Columbus Executive Director, Former Muslim Forum of Utah President, Christian Conservative LDS
As an Iranian-American ex-Muslim and former socialist, I understand firsthand the inner workings of the leftist mindset. During my years as a vegan and a socialist, I subscribed to the progressive ideals of equality, environmentalism, and individual autonomy that are common in today’s far-left circles. But over time, my experiences and observations led me to a profound shift. I eventually found my path to Christianity, becoming a conservative member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), and distancing myself from the values that once defined my political and social worldview.
Given my unique perspective, I believe it is in the interest of Christian conservatives to support progressive women’s decisions around celibacy, abortion, and gay marriage—but specifically when it applies to the left. While these values are not in line with conservative ideals, I argue that by encouraging these choices within the leftist camp, we create conditions that may serve conservative principles and align with our worldview in the long run.
Supporting Celibate, Man-Resistant Progressives
There is a rising movement of socialist, feminist women who shave their heads, openly refuse relationships with men, and advocate for personal celibacy as a political stance. This choice, albeit stemming from a leftist, anti-patriarchal ideology, inadvertently aligns with conservative goals of reducing the influence of radical progressive ideologies over family dynamics and male-female relationships. When progressive women reject traditional partnerships and abstain from raising children, they reduce the spread of those beliefs within future generations. Conservative Christians value the family as the fundamental unit of society, and by removing themselves from traditional family structures, these progressive women essentially remove themselves from a role in shaping the next generation.
Encouraging Abortion—for Democrat Socialists Only
While Christian conservatives are generally opposed to abortion, there’s an argument to be made for encouraging the procedure among those firmly entrenched in radical left ideologies. Many on the left champion abortion as a form of reproductive freedom, yet its widespread practice can contribute to a decrease in the birth rates within their own political ranks. By supporting a policy that encourages abortion solely within leftist communities, we may ultimately reduce the impact of progressive ideologies on future generations while reinforcing conservative pro-family values in communities that choose life and traditional values.
Historically, high birth rates among religious and conservative communities have bolstered family-oriented, pro-life values, and continue to shape societal structures. Political scientists have long observed the correlation between birth rates and political influence. A 2020 study from the Journal of Political Ideology notes that "the fertility gap between conservatives and liberals in the United States has contributed to the enduring presence of conservative values in American society"romoting policies that subtly encourage lower birth rates among those espousing radical, anti-family policies could reinforce the long-term stability of conservative values in the public sphere.
Gay Marriage and the Radical Left
When it comes to the left’s advocacy for gay marriage, conservatives may also benefit from its propagation—specifically when limited to progressive circles. Many conservative scholars argue that redefining marriage weakens the institution itself, stripping it of the traditional values that have stabilized families for generations. By endorsing the progressive community's focus on non-traditional marriages within its own ranks, we allow conservative families to preserve the sanctity of marriage as understood in traditional Judeo-Christian teachings, while progressive communities redefine it to suit their personal lifestyles.
If radical progressives are determined to dismantle traditional family structures, it is both logical and strategic to permit them to do so without interference. Studies have shown that same-sex unions and unconventional family structures tend to produce different family dynamics and, in some cases, decrease the likelihood of raising children who adhere to traditional, conservative values . Suppor values within leftist communities may help to insulate the conservative family unit from further erosion.
Conclusion
As a Christian conservative, it may seem paradoxical to advocate for policies that appear to conflict with traditional values. However, when applied exclusively within leftist, radical communities, these choices may ultimately serve to preserve conservative values and families by isolating progressive ideologies within their own ranks. By encouraging these choices solely among leftist activists and self-proclaimed socialists, we allow them to shape their own futures without impacting the stability and longevity of traditional values cherished by conservative families.
Through celibacy, abortion, and the redefinition of marriage, radical leftists may inadvertently be reducing their own influence on the future. In the meantime, conservative Christians can continue to promote strong families, raise children in faith, and ensure that our values endure for generations to come.
