Israel Launches Massive Attack on Iran as War Begins
By Bobby Darvish - darvishintelligence.blogspot.com
As an Iranian-American ex-Muslim and a conservative Christian LDS, I find myself at a complex intersection of heritage, faith, and geopolitical realities. Growing up in Iran before becoming an American and ultimately converting to Christianity, I witnessed firsthand the effects of the Islamic Republic’s oppressive ideology. Now, as Israel engages militarily with Iran, I see a nation defending itself against a regime that has long exported violence and terror, not just to the Middle East but across the globe.
Israel's recent large-scale offensive against Iran marks a significant escalation in the simmering tensions between the two countries. This is more than just a regional conflict; it's a clash of civilizations with far-reaching consequences. The Jewish state is not only defending its right to exist but is also standing as a bulwark against the Iranian regime’s expansionist ambitions, which include targeting Jews and Christians alike, supporting terrorist organizations like Hezbollah, and striving for regional dominance through proxies in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen.
Iran’s Threat to Israel and the Region
Iran's leaders, particularly those in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), have openly called for the destruction of Israel, referring to it as the "Little Satan" (with the United States as the "Great Satan")ords are not idle threats. The Iranian regime has backed Hezbollah in Lebanon, which has over 150,000 rockets pointed at Israel, and has worked to establish a military presence in Syria along Israel’s northern border . For den has funneled money, weapons, and training to groups dedicated to eradicating the Jewish state. Israel’s response in this latest conflict is, therefore, a necessary action to prevent the Islamic Republic from reaching its goal of annihilation.
From my perspective as someone who left Islam, I see the Iranian regime’s agenda as deeply rooted in a radical interpretation of Islam that justifies violence against non-Muslims. The Quran’s calls for jihad, whether in outright warfare or more insidious forms, have been consistently weaponized by the regime, which views itself as the leader of the Muslim world in a spiritual and political war against infidels . Israel’s decisike back is a rejection of the dangerous narrative that radical Islamists in Iran continue to propagate.
The Geopolitical Significance of Israel’s Response
The United States has historically been a supporter of Israel, but recent geopolitical shifts have seen Washington's influence in the region wane as Iran grows bolder in its pursuit of nuclear weapons and regional hegemony. Israel, therefore, has taken matters into its own hands to ensure that Iran's nuclear ambitions do not go unchecked. The prospect of Iran becoming a nuclear power is not only an existential threat to Israel but also a destabilizing factor for the entire Middle East .
As an Iranian-Americaner the devastating consequences of the Iran-Iraq War. The Iranian regime is more than willing to sacrifice its people for its ideological goals, a fact that makes it exceptionally dangerous. Leaders in Tehran have long suppressed their citizens, persecuting ethnic minorities, religious dissidents, and political opponents, all while claiming to act in the name of Islam . Their goals are not limited to lonce; they envision a global Islamic caliphate, a dream that threatens the very fabric of Western civilization.
Why Christians Should Support Israel
Israel stands on the front lines of defending Judeo-Christian values in a region hostile to both. For Christians, Israel's existence fulfills biblical prophecies and represents a shared heritage and faith. The Old Testament, foundational to Christianity, reveals that Israel was divinely ordained as a covenantal homeland for the Jewish people . Moreover, Israel’s enemies are often hostistians as well. In Iran, Christianity is regarded as an affront to the state, with converts like myself being treated as traitors, often facing severe persecution and death .
Iran's aggression towards Israel thus becomes an ahe broader Judeo-Christian foundation of Western society. When Israel defends itself, it is also indirectly protecting Christian communities from the militant Islamic forces that seek their destruction. As Latter-day Saints, we understand the importance of the Promised Land and the role that Israel plays in divine prophecy. The modern state of Israel is more than just a political entity; it is a symbol of resilience against a world increasingly hostile to faith and religious freedom.
The Role of America and the Importance of Supporting Israel
America has long been a staunch ally of Israel, recognizing the shared democratic values and the strategic importance of a strong Jewish state in the Middle East. However, some in the current U.S. administration seem hesitant to offer full support, appeasing a segment of the American public sympathetic to Palestinian causes and even, at times, Iran. Such appeasement undermines our values and sacrifices Israel’s security. American Christians, particularly those of us who are conservative, must advocate for a robust U.S.-Israel alliance, recognizing that Israel’s fight is also our fight.
The left-leaning media often fails to recognize the reality of Israel's situation, portraying the conflict as one between oppressor and oppressed rather than as Israel defending itself from a regime that embodies radical Islamic extremism. From my experience as an ex-Muslim, I can attest to the repressive nature of Islamic rule, especially the Sharia-based governance that the Iranian regime enforces. This is not merely about political power; it's about enforcing a specific, radical ideology that threatens not just Israel but anyone who resists it .
A Call to Action for Christians, Conservatives, and Ame is critical that American Christians, conservatives, and freedom-loving individuals across the West stand in solidarity with Israel. Iran’s ambition to export its Islamic Revolution across the region poses a threat not only to Israel but to Western society and values. As the current conflict unfolds, we must pray for Israel’s safety and recognize that Israel's battle is, in many ways, our own. This isn’t merely a struggle between two nations; it is a defense against the forces of tyranny, religious extremism, and radical Islam that seek to crush the Judeo-Christian principles upon which the West was built.
I urge all Americans to stay informed and speak out against any appeasement or softening towards Iran’s brutal regime. Stand with Israel, support its right to self-defense, and advocate for policies that recognize the realities of the region. The stakes are high, but together, through prayer, action, and steadfast support, we can ensure that Israel remains a beacon of light and resilience amidst the darkness of radicalism.
