Exposing CAIR: A Foreign Agent Advancing Anti-American Agendas
By Bobby Darvish - darvishintelligence.blogspot.com
As an Iranian-American, former Muslim, and Christian conservative, I have had firsthand experience working within organizations that claim to represent Muslims in America, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). I served as the Executive Director of CAIR’s Columbus chapter and later as President of the Muslim Forum of Utah, which has given me unique insights into CAIR’s problematic role in American society. Today, I want to shed light on the troubling connections between CAIR, foreign entities, and extremist groups that ultimately aim to destabilize America. Organizations like CAIR, along with figures such as Ibrahim Hooper and Nihad Awad, are not allies of the United States but rather emboldeners of its enemies. Here’s why I left, why CAIR’s claims to represent American Muslims are suspect, and why their activities should concern every patriotic American.
CAIR’s Origins and Connections to Hamas
CAIR was founded in 1994 by figures with known associations with the terrorist organization Hamas. According to the findings from the Holy Land Foundation trial, CAIR was named as an unindicted co-conspirator due to its connections to Hamas, a designation not handed out lightly by the Department of Justice (DOJ) but based on documented ties and shared objectives. The trial revealed that CAIR was part of a larger network within the United States linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, an organization known for its influence on Islamist groups and its historical connections to extremist ideologies and organizations. Hamas, as the militant arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine, has promoted violent attacks against civilians, and yet CAIR’s founders were clearly tied to it from the beginning.
Obama’s Role in Shutting Down Investigations
The Holy Land Foundation case brought significant evidence to the public eye about CAIR’s ties to Hamas. However, under the Obama administration, investigations into CAIR’s activities were shockingly curtailed. In 2009, shortly after President Obama took office, his administration made the decision to limit federal inquiries into CAIR and its affiliates, effectively shutting down further scrutiny into whether CAIR was functioning as a foreign agent on American soil. As a result, CAIR continued to operate unchecked, further embedding itself into the American political landscape and projecting itself as the spokesperson for American Muslims, despite its questionable origins and associations.
The Appointment of Muslim Brotherhood Member Mohammad Elibiary
In 2010, the Obama administration appointed Mohammad Elibiary, a known sympathizer of the Muslim Brotherhood, to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as an advisor. This appointment raised serious questions about the administration’s judgment and its commitment to protecting American interests. Elibiary openly praised the Muslim Brotherhood, and his influence in the DHS was troubling given his vocal support for ideologies that run counter to American values and democratic principles.
Elibiary’s position was not an isolated incident but indicative of a larger pattern within the Obama administration to normalize and even endorse figures aligned with Islamist movements. His appointment only further emboldened groups like CAIR, which used these connections to legitimize their radical activities and undermine the core values of freedom, tolerance, and democracy that Americans cherish.
CAIR’s Agenda: Exploiting American Freedom
CAIR presents itself as a civil rights organization, championing the rights of Muslims in America. However, as my time with CAIR revealed, this facade conceals a much darker agenda. Rather than fostering true integration and coexistence, CAIR has actively promoted divisive rhetoric, portraying American Muslims as victims of systemic oppression and pushing for policies that align more with the interests of foreign Islamist groups than with the well-being of American citizens. Figures like Ibrahim Hooper and Nihad Awad openly advocate for an Islamic agenda in America that is incongruent with the nation’s principles of liberty and democracy.
CAIR’s leaders have consistently utilized fearmongering and accusations of "Islamophobia" to silence critics, deflect accountability, and advance an agenda aligned with groups that are hostile to America. Their tactics are a form of “lawfare”—using legal and political means to weaken their opponents and achieve ideological goals that align with organizations like Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.
Conclusion: Holding CAIR Accountable
As Americans, we cannot afford to ignore CAIR’s real agenda. The American people have the right to know the truth about CAIR’s founding and the foreign influence behind its operations. I am calling on my fellow patriots to demand accountability for CAIR’s actions and to recognize that not every organization claiming to represent “civil rights” truly serves the people of this country.
As a former Muslim and now a follower of Jesus Christ, I can say with conviction that CAIR and other similar organizations do not represent the best interests of Muslims in America, nor do they represent the interests of the United States. They represent foreign agendas and extremist ideologies that threaten our nation’s values and security.
