How the Democrat Government’s Border Policies Empower Violent Gangs like Tren de Aragua
By Bobby Darvish - darvishintelligence.blogspot.com
Over the last few months, America has witnessed an alarming uptick in gang-related crimes, many of which are directly linked to the notorious Venezuelan criminal organization, Tren de Aragua. With the Biden administration’s relaxed approach to border security, America is not only more vulnerable, but criminal groups like Tren de Aragua have also become increasingly emboldened. For those of us who believe in upholding the law, protecting American communities, and preserving the integrity of our borders, the consequences of this new era of Democratic policy-making are both disheartening and dangerous.
A New Era of Lax Border Control
During the Trump administration, strong border policies created a framework to manage immigration and limit the movement of dangerous criminals across our borders. These policies included physical barriers, extended border patrol presence, and “Remain in Mexico” protocols that required asylum seekers to wait outside U.S. borders while their cases were processed. The effectiveness of these policies was evident, as they significantly reduced illegal crossings and helped prevent gang operatives from entering the country uncheckedr, with the Biden administration rolling back these policies, we are facing a security crisis. Nearly 2.7 million undocumented immigrants have entered the country in the last two years alone, and among them are members of dangerous transnational gangs like Tren de Aragua. Founded in Venezuela, Tren de Aragua has expanded its influence through the exploitation of migrant pathways. What began as a prison gang has now evolved into a sprawling criminal network that engages in human trafficking, drug smuggling, and violent crime across the Americas .
Open Borders on American Communities
Increased gang activity across the U.S. has led to rising violence in towns and cities that previously had minimal exposure to organized crime from Latin American countries. Over the last few months, members of Tren de Aragua have been linked to multiple heinous crimes, including kidnappings, assaults, extortion, and drug-related violence. In Arizona, a state that has borne the brunt of increased illegal crossings, reports of cartel and gang activity have skyrocketed. Residents and law enforcement have expressed grave concerns about the lack of resources to combat these well-armed and well-financed criminals .
As a former Iranian whoed the impact of political instability in my own country, I understand firsthand the importance of a secure nation. My family fled persecution, not to live under the shadow of unchecked criminality, but to embrace the safety and opportunities of America. However, as long as our borders remain vulnerable, that safety is at risk for every American citizen.
Scientific Evidence of Crime Surge and Its Socioeconomic Impact
The link between illegal immigration and gang-related crime is supported by numerous studies. For example, the Journal of Criminology published a study indicating that the presence of transnational gangs correlates with increases in local violent crime rates by up to 10%. The study further noted that these gangs have sophisticated networks that allow them to evade law enforcement efforts and exploit legal loopholes in countries with relaxed immigration policies .
Beyond violence, there is a broaconomic impact. Taxpayers bear the cost of increased law enforcement and emergency response services to counter the rise in crime. Moreover, these gangs are increasingly involved in drug trafficking, which is responsible for a surge in opioid overdoses across American communities. Research from the American Medical Association links spikes in opioid use to increased gang presence, as these organizations use their established networks to distribute drugs in vulnerable communities .
The Republican Vision: Restoring Secuccountability
A secure America is a prosperous America. As a conservative capitalist and Republican, I firmly believe in the importance of law and order as a foundation for economic growth. Trump’s border policies were an essential step toward maintaining this foundation, and their removal has opened the floodgates for organizations like Tren de Aragua to operate freely within our borders. It is our duty as Republicans, conservatives, and citizens to call for policies that will secure the border and restore the protections needed for all Americans.
Capitalism thrives on a safe, stable society, where citizens and businesses alike can operate without the constant threat of gang violence or cartel interference. The Republican Party has always been dedicated to creating an environment that values freedom, responsibility, and accountability. Reinstating strong border policies is not just about political ideology—it’s about protecting our American way of life from external threats and ensuring a future where every citizen can feel safe.
Conclusion: A Call to Action for Americans
In light of the Democrat administration’s failure to maintain strong borders, Americans face a stark choice. Do we continue down this path, allowing violent criminal organizations to gain strength within our communities? Or do we reclaim our national security, support policies that prioritize our citizens, and uphold the conservative principles that built this nation? For those of us who came to America seeking refuge and opportunity, the answer is clear.
By addressing the security breaches along our borders, we can preserve a safe and prosperous nation that will endure for generations. It’s time to hold our leaders accountable, demand effective border policies, and defend the America that remains the last bastion of freedom in an increasingly dangerous world.
