The Future of the CIA in 2025 Under Trump’s Leadership: A Conservative Perspective

As an Iranian-American with a deep understanding of both Eastern and Western political landscapes, I’ve often reflected on the powerful institutions shaping our world. Among these, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) stands as one of the most influential. Its role in safeguarding the United States is crucial, but under the current Biden administration, many conservatives, including myself, have observed a disturbing drift away from its core mission of protecting American interests.

If Donald Trump assumes office in 2025, we can expect a transformational shift in the CIA, reversing the politicization and inefficiencies of the Biden years. But who will lead this transformation, and how will Trump realign the CIA with his vision of America First? Let us examine the potential leadership and changes awaiting this vital agency.

Potential Leadership for the CIA Under Trump

In his first term, Trump made bold choices for intelligence leadership, often prioritizing loyalty, competence, and a shared vision of prioritizing national security over globalist ambitions. The next CIA director is likely to come from a pool of Trump-aligned conservatives, with a background in law enforcement, military intelligence, or cybersecurity. Names like former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell or a returning figure like Mike Pompeo could emerge. Grenell, known for his assertive stance on China and Iran, represents the aggressive counterintelligence approach needed to counter modern threats.

Trump's appointee will likely be tasked with rooting out "deep state" operatives and restoring accountability. This effort will require someone not only adept at counterterrorism but also skilled in identifying internal subversion, as the CIA has faced accusations of political bias in recent years.

Reversing Politicization and Leftist Agendas

Under Biden, the CIA shifted focus to diversity initiatives and climate change, as noted in reports on its recruitment ads and public priorities (The Hill, 2021). While these efforts may resonate with progressive audiences, they divert resources from the agency's primary mission. Trump will likely redirect the CIA back to combating adversaries like China, Russia, and Iran—nations that pose existential threats to U.S. sovereignty.

Furthermore, the Biden administration's embrace of globalist agendas has allowed foreign influence to seep into American policymaking. A Trump-led CIA will prioritize exposing and dismantling networks tied to foreign adversaries, including addressing cyber threats, intellectual property theft, and economic espionage.

The Revival of Counterintelligence Operations

One of Trump’s strengths is his ability to identify where institutions have faltered. The CIA’s counterintelligence operations will undoubtedly receive a major overhaul under his leadership. Focus areas might include:

  1. China’s Expanding Influence: Trump’s prior administration was uncompromising on China’s role in global cyberattacks and espionage. Expect his CIA to intensify operations targeting Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents and collaborators in academia, technology, and politics.

  2. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC): As someone with personal ties to Iran’s history, I recognize the existential threat posed by the IRGC. Under Trump, the CIA is likely to escalate covert operations to undermine the IRGC and support Iranian dissident groups seeking regime change.

  3. Domestic Subversion: Trump’s second term could see the CIA collaborating more closely with the FBI to dismantle domestic Marxist and Islamist networks, which many conservatives view as existential threats to American values.

Embracing Technological Advancements

As someone specializing in cybersecurity, I know firsthand how critical technological dominance is in intelligence. The CIA under Trump will likely prioritize artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and advanced encryption technologies to outmaneuver adversaries. The agency may also ramp up collaborations with private tech firms to gain a competitive edge in cyber warfare.

Trump's administration could also push for a decentralization of CIA operations, leveraging blockchain technology to secure sensitive data and prevent leaks—a necessity given recent high-profile security breaches.

Rebuilding Morale and Integrity

The CIA has suffered under accusations of politicization and inefficiency. Trump’s leadership will aim to rebuild trust within the agency, focusing on meritocracy rather than ideology. He will likely enforce a zero-tolerance policy for leaks, ensuring that operatives prioritize American interests above personal agendas.

Furthermore, Trump’s CIA may prioritize recruiting individuals from patriotic, conservative backgrounds, reducing the influence of progressivist ideologies that have taken hold in federal institutions.

Conclusion: Restoring the CIA’s Core Mission

Under a Trump presidency, the CIA will witness a seismic shift, shedding the distractions of the Biden years and refocusing on America’s security and sovereignty. This transformation will hinge on the appointment of a strong, uncompromising leader committed to the America First doctrine.

The agency will realign its efforts to counter external threats from adversaries like China, Russia, and Iran, while addressing internal vulnerabilities, including cyber threats and ideological subversion. By embracing cutting-edge technology and enforcing accountability, the CIA under Trump can restore its reputation as the world’s premier intelligence agency.

For those of us who have lived under oppressive regimes, the importance of a strong and focused CIA cannot be overstated. America needs an intelligence agency that defends its freedoms—not one that panders to globalist agendas. With Trump at the helm, the CIA’s future will undoubtedly be brighter and stronger.
