Trump’s Choice of Hagseth: The Best Decision to Dismantle DEI and Cultural Marxism in the Biden Pentagon

In the ongoing cultural battle to preserve American values, few decisions stand as significant as President Trump’s endorsement of Pete Hegseth for positions that would allow him to dismantle the deeply ingrained culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and the broader Cultural Marxist agenda that has permeated our institutions, particularly the Pentagon under President Biden.

I come from a perspective of having seen both the horrors of radical ideologies up close, first in my upbringing in Iran, and later in my experience as a Muslim leader in America. These ideologies, though masked under the guise of "tolerance" or "progressivism," are nothing more than mechanisms for control—manipulating societal norms to advance a globalist agenda that undermines traditional values, especially those grounded in faith, family, and freedom. What the Left, under Biden’s leadership, has introduced into American institutions, including the Pentagon, is a direct assault on these foundational pillars.

In the Biden administration, the Pentagon has become an ideological battleground, with DEI initiatives and the radical LGBTQ+ agenda taking center stage. These initiatives have been used not only to promote inclusivity but, more troublingly, to suppress dissenting viewpoints and enforce a narrow, leftist worldview. The Biden administration’s requirement for Ukraine to adopt and promote radical LGBTQ+ policies as a condition for receiving American military aid highlights the depths to which these ideologies are embedded within the machinery of the state. It’s clear that, in their pursuit of power, the Left is willing to sacrifice fundamental American values in the name of “progress.”

President Biden’s administration has set the stage for a shift away from meritocracy and readiness within our military. DEI policies push for representation and identity-based decision-making, often sidelining experience, capability, and loyalty to national interests. The focus has shifted from building a strong military force to building an ideologically compliant one. With military readiness compromised by cultural Marxism, it is critical to take immediate action to restore the focus on competency and unity within our ranks.

This is where Trump’s selection of Pete Hegseth stands as a beacon of hope. As a staunch critic of DEI and the Cultural Marxist ideologies permeating institutions like the Pentagon, Hegseth represents a shift back to traditional American values—those values that have made our military and our country strong in the face of global threats. His vocal criticism of the political correctness that has infected our military and broader institutions gives us hope that, under his influence, there could be a return to the principles of leadership and accountability that have historically driven the success of our military forces.

Hegseth’s commitment to military readiness and merit-based decision-making over identity politics is the antidote to the woke virus spreading through our armed forces. By dismantling DEI policies, he would not only streamline the decision-making process within the Pentagon but also ensure that our military is composed of the most qualified, capable individuals—irrespective of race, gender, or sexual orientation. This is a crucial step toward making our military great again, prioritizing our nation’s defense above all else.

Furthermore, Hegseth's rejection of the radical LGBTQ+ agenda, particularly the policy of advancing such ideology abroad in exchange for foreign aid, aligns with the moral compass that has always been central to our country’s identity. By rejecting the use of American taxpayer dollars to fund social engineering projects overseas, particularly in countries that are far from ready to embrace such values, Hegseth offers a much-needed pivot back to realism in foreign policy. For too long, the Left has used foreign aid as a means of pushing cultural imperialism, and Hegseth’s stance promises to end that.

I have seen first-hand the destructive power of ideologies that attempt to erase cultural and religious differences in the name of "progress." The Left’s quest for social justice through forced equity has created division, not unity. It has replaced the pursuit of excellence with a culture of mediocrity. In my own journey—from a devout Muslim in Iran to an ex-Muslim and Christian conservative—I've witnessed the toxic ideologies of collectivism, victimhood, and cultural manipulation. These ideologies, much like the forces of radical Islam and communism, aim to control thought, dictate behavior, and suppress individual freedom. Pete Hegseth’s rise in the Pentagon offers the best hope of breaking free from these chains.

As an Iranian-American and former leader of the Muslim Forum of Utah, I have learned that the greatest danger to freedom is not foreign threats, but the erosion of our internal values—values that were forged in the fires of the American Revolution, grounded in Judeo-Christian principles, and sustained by a meritocratic and free society. Hegseth’s leadership could bring our country back from the brink, ensuring that we remain true to these values. Trump’s choice of Hegseth isn’t just a political move; it’s a stand for the future of America.
