Is Biden Provoking Civil War With Attacks on Conservative Christians?

(LifeSiteNews) — On this week’s episode of Faith & Reason, the panel discusses Joe Biden’s declaration of war on conservative Christians, the upcoming travels of Pope Francis and Chinese Communist leader Xi Jinping to Kazakhstan, and speculation on whether the two will meet and renew the Vatican-China deal.

Both Liz Yore and John-Henry Westen note parallels between the language Biden used in his recent Philadelphia speech and the language Pope Francis uses when discussing traditional Catholics who prefer the Latin Mass.

“I think there’s a coordination of trying to paint traditional Catholics, traditional Americans who love the Constitution, love the values of our country as being backwards,” Liz says. “And so I think these are, as I said before, fighting words.”

“It’s amazing that we’ve seen just in this last week, both from the President and from the Pope, fighting words,” John-Henry adds later on. “Aiming at or looking to a kind of civil war in the United States, yes, but also in the Church, in the painting of falsehoods. Both of them actually using their words, describing what they themselves are doing and ascribing those bad things to the faithful, to those who are fighting in the United States for freedom … and also in the Church [those who are] fighting for tradition, for Christ, and for His Holy Mother.”

This week’s episode also covers Pope Francis’ upcoming trip to Kazakhstan for the Congress of Leader of World and Traditional Religions, an “interfaith” meeting featuring discussions on “gender equality” and “global dialogue,” and his prayer for the success of a United Nations climate change meeting.

Father James Altman comments that Francis only cares about the “one-world agenda,” not his flock.

“He has risen to the top of the Catholic Church, and he has put minions around him like [Cardinal Robert] McElroy to institute the whole one-world global agenda, which is going to be population reduction, which means that a lot of poor people are going to die,” he says.
